- Fill out the Hazardous Materials Form
(right click link then choose 'Save As' to download)

a) A preliminary visual inspection of the pump is done.
b) Pump is completely disassembled.

Cleaning

a) The stator and blades are thoroughly and individually cleaned.
b) The inside of the housing and other components are cleaned.
c) After cleaning the components are air dried with low pressure
compressed air and oven dried to ensure no residue is left on the pump.

Inspection

a) Parts are inspected for wear.
b) Inspection worksheet is filled out.
c) Tolerances are checked.

Assembly
a) Consumables (O-rings, vibration rings, seals, etc) are replaced.
b) Bearings are replaced with ABEC 7 rated bearings or better.

Balancing
a) Pumps are balanced to 0.01 microns.
(Generally pumps can tolerate 0.02 microns.)

Testing
a) Pump is filled with appropriate oil if applicable. (Some bearings are
grease loaded and some require oil.)
b) Run for 72 hours.
c) Pumps are tested “dead headed” on the testing bench and are tested
under load. If you have specific requirements let us know.
d) Vacuum pressure, temperature, and AMPS are monitored.

Mechanical Pumps

- Please drain oil from your pump prior to shipping.
- Fill out the Hazardous Materials Form
(right click link then choose 'Save As' to download)

Receiving
Upon arrival each pump is tagged with a job number, customer’s name, model number, serial number and visually inspected. A receiving report is filled out documenting the condition of the pump and all accessories it arrived with. This will be faxed to you for your records.

Production

Disassembly
Pump is disassembled and a preliminary cleaning with a degreaser is done if necessary for initial inspection.

Cleaning
The stages of the pump are cleaned in the Vapormate 3. This revolutionary parts washer utilizes a mild blasting media and cleaner to remove any contamination. This enables us to get even the dirtiest pump clean without the stages being pitted by more abrasive processes. Plus it is environmentally friendly.

Inspection
Parts are inspected for wear to aid in determining cause of pump failure. All components are measured to ensure tolerances are met. For your records and ours an inspection worksheet is filled out to document the work performed. These records are maintained for reference use when your pump is due for preventive maintenance.

Assembly
The pump is reassembled in a designated area free of contaminates. During assembly the o-rings, gaskets, oil seals and other consumables are replaced. If any major components need to be replaced, such as the rotor, or any of the stages the customer is contacted for approval. Using the recommended oil the parts are lubricated during assembly to avoid any unnecessary friction between metal parts.

Testing
After assembly the pump is filled with appropriate oil and tested for a minimum 72 hours. During this time the pressure, temperature and noise levels are monitored. Once the pump has passed all tests it is cleaned and painted.

Shipping
Oil is drained from the pump and all ports are sealed to keep any foreign matter from entering the pump. This foam molds itself to the shape of the pump protecting it from damage during shipping. Pump is shipped back the same priority it was shipped in (i.e. UPS 2nd Day Ground, UPS Red, etc.)
